MACOUPIN COUNTY BROADBAND FUNDING: Action Needed Before April 13th to Help Get More Funding for Broadband in Macoupin Last year, the County asked for help getting speed tests done to help with Broadband funding. Because of the response, we’ve moved onto the next step. We need surveys completed by homes, home businesses, farms, medical facilities, local government, schools and parents who struggle with remote learning as many different types of users in order to get the funding. As of now, we have had 100 responses which isn’t near enough to show the need for broadband we all know we have. If you could take the time to share the survey information, take it yourself, and do whatever you can to get response in your area, it would be appreciated. The more you can do get response, the better chances we have to get the funding necessary for better internet in the county. In particular, if folks could take the survey on their phone internet without wifi, that could also help us potentially use the funding to get public wifi which may also help with cell phone service in our area by improving cellular infrastructure. I’ve attached a graphic about the survey and the link is https://go.illinois.edu/ConnectMacoupinCounty The county would appreciate anything you can do to help. PETE DUNCANMACOUPIN COUNTY CLERK
